QPR AFTER LEROY FER

QPR AFTER LEROY FER

Norwich player Leroy Fer celebrates after scoring the second goal during the Barclays Premier League match between West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City at The Hawthorns on December 7, 2013
Netherlands international midfielder Leroy Fer is apparently poised to leave Norwich City after only one season as Queens Park Rangers close in on his signature.
The 24-year-old, who represented Holland at the World Cup in Brazil this summer, only joined the Canaries from FC Twente last summer but could not prevented them being relegated to the Championship.
Fer has insisted that he is happy to honour the remaining three years on his Carrow Road contract, but Dutch publication Voetbal International claim that QPR want to take him with them back to the Premier League.
The Hoops, who were promoted to the top flight via the playoffs in May, are believed to be in advanced negotiations to sign Fer for £4.75m, which is less than Norwich paid to bring him to Norfolk in 2013.
Fer scored four goals in 32 Norwich appearances last season and could be joined at Loftus Road by former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand and Ajax's Icelandic striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson.
